Update as of March 24th, 2022
Father Steve and Catherine Fox formed the nominating committee in the fall of 2021. They have been working to identify people to serve as chairs of committees and fill upcoming vacancies on Pastoral Council - including:
Chair, Secretary, Faith and Development, Social Justice, Social, and Ecumenism.
The work is not quite complete but we expect to have nominees in place for most of the vacancies within the next few days and in time for the annual meeting.
The Christ the King (CTK) Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) serves our parish as a consultative body alongside the pastor. We strive to be a key instrument of lay leadership in the pastoral care and evangelization work of our parish and to encourage all members of Christ the King to play an active role in the life and presence of the Church in our community.
Our 2018 – 2021 strategy map includes a clear focus on building disciples, strengthening evangelization, and providing a rich experience at Mass. This focus was affirmed during our PPC retreat in the fall of 2019. In 2000, we adopted as our mission: Love the Lord, Encounter Christ, Serve all People.
In response to COVID restrictions, we have been innovative in bringing this focus to life using a combination of virtual and face to face approaches so that all may safely enjoy rich liturgy and learning experiences. Program information is included in the bulletins and on our website.
PPC typically meets monthly from September to June. Meeting dates are set in collaboration with Father Steve and notice is given in the bulletin and on the website. PPC is comprised of the pastoral team, representatives from number of our ministry committees, the youth minister, and representatives from CWL, Knights of Columbus, and the schools within our parish boundaries.
Members of PPC are approved by our Pastor and must be practicing, confirmed Catholics. Vacancies may be filled by appointment by the Pastor or by election or ratification at the Annual General Meeting. If you are interested in serving on PPC or as a committee chair or member, please contact Father Steve.
Members of the parish who are interested in observing a PPC meeting should contact Karen McBride (PPC Chair) at 306-570-3133 (text or call) or [email protected].
