Our mission is to assist individuals and families as they connect with the community, navigate the challenges of settling into a new city and/or new country.

Newcomers to Canada, including permanent residents, foreign students, temporary foreign workers, and refugees.

Canadians new to our city
We assist people with diverse backgrounds, including families with children, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with limited English language skills.

Other Resources

What We Do

Accompaniment Volunteers will assist you when you are facing important tasks or challenges.  For example, a volunteer from our team can go with you to the doctor, the bank, or assist you to fill out forms, making sure you understand everything and feel comfortable. 

Community Connection Volunteers will assist you to find reliable settlement and other public service resources; we also organize information sessions for those we serve.

Support We Offer

Settlement Services
Obtaining Social Insurance Numbers, opening bank accounts, accessing healthcare, locating housing, applying for utilities or a police records check, bus system navigation, exploring language training, locating employment services, and more.

Community Connection
Assistance to connect with new people, interest groups, professional associations, cultural associations and community activities.

Companionship and Support
Providing comfort and friendship for those separated from their families; struggling with social isolation or when dealing with unfamiliar cultural norms.

Confidentiality

Our volunteers are screened to work with vulnerable sector groups. 
Volunteers are trained and required to follow confidentiality, code of conduct and all other volunteer protocols implemented by The Archdiocese of Regina.
